World reporter @Oscar Rodriguez wrote an article last week about the Douglas County planning commissioners recommending the 290-unit Wilkinson Apartments project be approved as presented.

The decision came after community pushback. The residents of Sunrise East, a 55-and-older community of manufactured homes across the street from the proposed development, where "opponents cited concerns about the increase to traffic which could make the area more dangerous for pedestrians, impacting property values and creating noise. Many also cited that the project would not be harmony with the rest of the neighborhood and should go elsewhere."

In an article published today, Oscar wrote that since the public record is closed, concerned East Wenatchee residents will have to wait to find out if they’ll get another chance to voice their concerns after a review process is complete.

What do you think of the project? Let me know in the comments!
