A new proclamation released by Gov. Inslee today gives businesses and residents more guidance on how to navigate the CDC’s new masking guidelines. The proclamation says businesses can choose to operate on an “honor system” that would assume anyone entering a business without a mask is already vaccinated. Businesses can also choose to verify with customers whether they have been vaccinated by asking to see proof of their vaccination.

L&I said if businesses choose to allow their employees to go maskless, they must be able to prove they’ve verified that their employees are vaccinated. Read more about the governor’s and L&I’s statements on masking in businesses here.
